IIT Kanpur was established in 1959. As one of the first Indian Institutes of Technology, the institute was created with the assistance of a consortium of nine US research universities as part of the Kanpur Indo-American Programme (KIAP). Education at IIT Kanpur empowers the students with a critical thinking led approach, scientific temperament and knowledge in science, engineering, management and humanities fields to solve problems that challenge humanity.
IIT Kanpur was the first institute in the country to introduce science based engineering curriculum at the undergraduate level. Not just this, IIT Kanpur was the first institute in India to offer Computer Science education.

The Inter IIT Tech Meet is the annual technology competition where IITians not only display their technical acumen but also showcase their entrepreneurial undertakings and social initiatives. The events are intended to foster the spirit of innovation and to ignite young minds towards a more technologically and economically viable future.

With a vision to revive the lost spirit of the Tech Meet and scale it to an even more significant level, IIT Kanpur intends to host the Tech Meet 11.0. The past couple of years has been genuinely testing times for humanity - endowing us with an expanse of learning experiences. It has coerced a renovation of our ideals and changed the world we live in. The end of this hiatus brings us new beginnings and newer possibilities - forcing a respawn of our brightest minds yearning to give their once virtual ambitions a new reality.
